happy to special order what you are looking for!

If you really want to stock-up, we offer bulk-discounts

for case-quantity orders (just ask).

*YOU CAN SHIP YOUR ONLINE AMMO ORDER TO US*

For transfers of ammunition, we will charge 20% of the price of your ammo, plus any applicable costs/fees such as the background & uncollected taxes.

WHEN CAN I PICK IT UP?

PLEASE ALLOW US 24 HOURS TO UNBOX AND PROCESS YOUR ORDER. IF YOU DO NOT HEAR FROM US BY THAT TIME, YOU ARE WELCOME TO STOP BY THE STORE.

You will have 10 business days to come pick up your ammo, after that time you will be charged $5 per day storage for each parcel.

*Large or pallet-sized orders will have increased storage fees.

or shipping anything by freight (pallet orders).

As of January 2026, California is preventing

certain items from shipping directly to your home.

For these instances, you may now send the order to us.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

For transfers that are not ammunition or firearms, we will charge 20% of the invoice for the order or $25, whichever is greater, plus any applicable costs/fees such as a background or uncollected taxes.

Beginning the day after shipment arrives at the store, you will have 10 business days to come pick up your order, after that time you will be charged $5* per day storage for each item or parcel.

*Large or pallet-sized orders will have increased storage fees.

COMMUNICATION IS APPRECIATED!

Please reach out in advance if you will be placing a large order,

or shipping anything by freight (pallet orders). We do not have a loading dock, and special accommodations will need to be a arranged in advance. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO LOAD YOUR ORDER.

SAFETY FIRST!

*PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL FIREARMS ARE UNLOADED before transporting them.
*DOUBLE-CHECK THE CHAMBER every time a gun is passed from one person to another.
*Lawful concealed carry is permitted and encouraged at our store, BUT PLEASE *KEEP YOUR FIREARM HOLSTERED * unless there is an emergency warranting it's use, or if requested by one of our staff.

BUYING A GUN?

If you're new to purchasing firearms, there's no need to worry! Just grab your current California REAL-ID or Driver License and stop by! Click here if you want to learn more about the purchase requirements for firearms and ammunition before your visit! We're here to make this process as pleasant as possible! Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

SELLING A GUN?

Central Valley Guns is a safe place to conduct a transfer! You're welcome to meet a prospective buyer here in the store, even if they are still deciding. We just need your current California ID or Driver License -if it shows a P.O. Box, we'll also need you to bring in a proof of address. The rest is up to the purchaser!

*We recommend calling ahead to ensure that we have storage space for, and can accommodate your transfer.

The "Handgun Roster"

The CA DOJ maintains an exclusive list of "not unsafe" handguns,

which are approved for sale to the people of California.

These select models are set to expire annually, on January first

if the renewal fees are not paid by the manufacturer.

Most manufacturers have the exact part number listed on the roster,

making it easy to identify which models are legal to purchase.

If you have any question about the legality of a firearm or can't locate it on the roster,

please reach out to us and we will help you.

How to conduct "Intrafamilial Transfers"

If the following applies to you, you can skip the store and transfer a firearm online!

Are you gifting a firearm to your parent, grandparent, (adult) children or grandchildren?
Did you inherit a firearm from your parent or grandparent?
THIS PROCESS IS NOT FOR TRANSFERS TO SIBLINGS, COUSINS, IN-LAWS, FRIENDS, ETC.

The transfer of a firearm up or down the family tree can be done online, via the CFARS website. The recipient of the firearm must be of legal age, and in possession of a valid CA ID/DL, and Firearm Safety Certificate or exemption. This process may take a number of weeks for the CA DOJ to complete.

ONLINE STEPS:

The recipient must create login information and log in.
Locate and click the link at the top left of the page, titled "California Reporting Information System (CRIS)".
Locate and click the link, titled "Report of Intra-Familial Firearm Transaction".
READ AND FOLLOW ALL OF THE DIRECTIONS.
Fill in the required information as noted with Red asterisks. *Be sure to attach a scan or clear picture of your CA ID, and FSC (or FSC exemption).
Click preview, and review your information for accuracy. Submit the final information.
Check the right side of the screen for a pending shopping cart, and make sure that the cart is submitted and paid for.
